2 years since I’ve done my first book of artist. Books of artists are a very singular category of contemporary and modern arts, once that is a completely different concept of support: isn’t a book of images, nor a portfolio, diary, sketch book, illustration book, they naturally can be defined by the artist like one of these, but isn’t necessarily the case.
The most relevant aspect of a book of artist is how the full composition structure the piece, creating a connection between each element page or media in one single “thing” : a book.
This artwork had a couple of assemblages that used to make part of the series, but due to external issues they both ceramics didnt last.
“Rosaceae in Space-time” was made in a semester where my research about botanics was starting. Space-time has been my field of research since se ond year of university and is my theme for dissertation as well. On this work, specifically, what I did was to mix the geometry of light tube theory to an visual interpretation with the cycle of life as allegory. Besides, the superior view of two coned is possible to be perceived in simetry to the stages of both roses.
This art piece was exhibited on the 28th Exmarte, together with another series with the same existential theme, the trilogy of life as perspective of one single timeless structure between the micro universe and macro universe. The 6 pieces exhibited that month was my first strong series following a solid interdisciplinary research.
