Artistical process diary; Spring season: Series of Abstract Experiments

Now I’m back in Brazil, and the clearest fact was: Things changed. Not only in Philosophy anymore, coming back to my artistic nest, the University in Brazil: place when proposal with weird materials isn’t only a random idea, but a serious investigation, turning your doubt in the matter, on new art pieces. So during my return, one of the firsts experiments we had on the atelier of gravure was the monography (the art-term), using high-density paints under a glass, making prints in a paper.  I was really excited and lost simultaneously, due to that during my exchange I was completely mind-seated on the philosophy of science and this amazing field of space-time theories and analysis, well,  completely different than experimental art classes. I must assume my obvious difficulty with new creations with ”contemporary principles”, even considering my entire devotion to colour properties.
During my second year of Bachelor, I had this idea of sewing arts with science, without the idea about how complex it is, honestly. Even in this ages, cursing some disciplines on the  Physics course of the Faculty of Sciences and working with a scholarship in a scientific project to the National Council of  Technology and Research.. wasn’t enough to feel the abyss between the methodical theories to science or other fields, to the art process. During these years I had a view as an art student; math, physics, philosophy, physiology, philology and everything weren’t my primary fields officially. But then I was in the Heidelberg Universität studying what I always felt like my primary field, and the other-way-round, and my fellows, aren’t so easy to take: This return changed something in the bottom of my practical process on arts, something that was until then hidden by self-comfort of the artistical perspective analysing other fields.
The result might be to run to the abstractionism? Metaphors without an ” a priori ” theory never worked out with my poetics.. but then.. Colour disposition, the art as a reference to itself! Classic technique from the expressionism! I read the Der Blaue Reither and it was one of the most beautiful things I ever read in my life, so far… The Art theory potential is unbeatable! I just read this masterpiece on the same week of this gravure proposal.. else it is my theme to Inktober (next post).. Three pieces were born: Seed, Consistent Button and Dry Blossom. They were the first of a long experimental series which I’ll certainly share in this website, due to the huge ”contrast ” that people might thing considering my surrealistic ” realistic” painting.

1-1

The series can be found on my profile on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/BnzUjUvhWYo/?hl=pt&taken-by=vanniegama . You’re all invited to take a look. Curiously, produce this series inspired on expressionist techniques from XX century was ”revolutionary” to my own language, once now explore the abstraction is one new branch growing slowly right side of my realism on painting..changing my creative process. The assemblage discipline has been a potential obstacle .. tridimensional is always an adventure! which I’ll share with you all in November, probably.. just to plant the seed of curiosity, this series content optical art and huge dimensions.  Anyways, this post is more as a curiosity than really some useful information to the internet!
